چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Before implementing individualized strategies to prevent or treat acute kidney injury (AKI), identifying clusters of patients with common (or divergent) pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnosis criteria outcome is upmost importance. Method We compared the characteristics 1170 male female referred for cardiac surgery bypass (CBP) using multivariate logistic regression propension score-based analysis. Performances candidate urinary biomarkers neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (uNGAL), [IGFBP7].[TIMP-2] product (Nephrocheck), a recently developed AKI signature 204 peptides (PeptAKI) were compared, sex-dependent individual peptide changes studied. Results In these CBP-surgery, incidence severity (K/DIGO classification) similar in men women (about 25%), even after adjustment usual risk factors including baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate, age, diabetes mellitus, length CBP red blood cell transfusion. uNGAL, Nephrocheck PeptAKI strongly diverged between males females. overall cohort, as well sub-groups females, multi-markers outperformed uNGAL NephroCheck. Reanalysis included at single level suggested divergences mechanisms sexes. women, score-derived relied on indicating inflammation (including SERPINs, SAA1, osteopontin, uromodulin fragments) hemolysis (HBA1, HBB), whereas derived from stress-responsive protective gene tubular epithelial cells (VGF nerve growth factor) was dramatically less abundant developing AKI. Conclusion significant clinical biological differences sexual dimorphism performances, identified. Urinary signatures may help personalize prevention progression by giving both quantitative sex-related qualitative information molecular underlying

Different Biomarkers of Acute kidney Injury in Cancer Patients
Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) occurs if the kidneys suddenly lose their ability to remove waste products. When the kidneys lose their ability to filter, dangerous levels of waste products can accumulate, which can upset the chemical composition of the blood and urine. Chemotherapy is one of the methods used to treat or temporarily reduce cancer by using certain medications. The main task of this tr...

Creatinine remains the standard for laboratory diagnosis of AKI. Efforts to prevent nephrotoxicity have been harmed by the delay in the diagnosis of AKI criteria by using only the creatinine as a marker, therefore there is great interest in identifying early reliable biomarkers. Moreover, early treatment of ARF can be correlated with a better prognosis and identification of biomarkers for early...
متن کاملBiomarkers of Acute Kidney Injury
The diagnosis of acute kidney injury (AKI) is usually based on measurements of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine. BUN and serum creatinine are not very sensitive or specific for the diagnosis of AKI because they are affected by many renal and nonrenal factors that are independent of kidney injury or kidney function. Biomarkers of AKI that are made predominantly by the injured kidne...

Introduction Acute Renal Failure (ARF) remains a common and signifi cant problem in modern medicine. The epidemiology and causes of ARF vary according to the clinical setting; in intensive care units it is estimated that the incidence of ARF ranges from 10%–25%,1,2 with acute tubular necrosis (ATN) accounting for about 75% of cases.3 Recent data from the BEST kidney investigators has estimated ...
متن کاملBiomarkers in Acute Kidney Injury
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the popular topics of discussions due to increasing development of biomarkers recently. The disease progression and prognosis may be determined by these biomarkers detected in blood and urine specimens. Since acute kidney injury is associated with a broad spectrum of disease conditions, prevention and early detection of AKI becomes very important in those cli...
